WARNING NOTICE: AVOID FALLING VICTIM TO BANK IMPERSONATION SCHEMES

In recent times, the prevalence and complexity of high-tech crime have increased significantly, manifesting in various ways. To safeguard customer interests, National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB) advises customers to use caution in banking transactions to prevent fraud as follows:

BANK STAFF IMPERSONATION, FRAUDULENT MESSAGES, EMAILS, AND BANK WEBSITES

Impersonating the bank to inform customers about assistance for CHANGING CREDIT CARD TYPE: Scammers approach customers in person and request their physical card, phone, and password for the NCB iziMobile app. They do this to obtain sensitive information such as the card number, CVV number, and OTP code, which they then use to carry out unauthorized transactions and withdraw money from customers' credit cards.

- High-tech criminals employ advanced technology to fabricate counterfeit websites and emails that closely resemble those of financial institutions. The fraudster employs fraudulent emails to contact clients and presents them with various services, such as increasing their credit limit, canceling their card, or waiving/canceling their annual charge. These emails contain a link to a counterfeit NCB website, where the scammer then gathers user information and photographs. Consequently, the fraudster carries out the following actions:

* Appropriating money through credit card transactions;

* Appropriating money through credit score enhancement services using fake credit reports "CICB - Creditinfo" and asking customers to transfer money to their personal account.

- Fraudsters make phone calls pretending to be bank employees in order to assist with activities such as opening credit cards, withdrawing cash from credit cards, informing customers of prize winnings and facilitating the receipt of prizes, helping with the resolution of bad debts, facilitating loans through banking applications, assisting with changing credit card types, notifying customers of account issues, informing customers of incorrect money transfers and providing instructions for refunds. They also request access to links provided by the scammers to process transactions and obtain customer information, ultimately leading to the withdrawal of funds from customers' credit cards.

NCB unequivocally pledges to sever all ties and refrain from any association or collaboration with such organizations. NCB will not provide limit increase services via telephone, nor will it participate in any illicit activities facilitated by fraudulent phone numbers or deceptive emails. Furthermore, NCB will NOT request customers to disclose private information in any manner.

OTHER COMMON FORMS OF FRAUD

Perpetrators are assuming the identities of authorities, websites, and public service apps (such as the VneID app, Ministry of Public Security, General Department of Taxation, etc.) in order to contact customers and coerce them into installing counterfeit programs that contain malware or accessing fraudulent application installation URLs.

Upon installation of the program, the phone will be infected with malware. Consequently, fraudsters can gain access to the user's device and take control of it:

* By granting Accessibility rights to fake apps on Android operating system devices or Message Filtering feature (iPhone) and verifying Apple ID with iOS operating system devices;

* Once granted rights, the fraudster will remotely monitor and control the user's device, thereby stealing personal information, bank account information, OTP codes on financial applications to commit fraud and appropriate property.
