NOTIFICATION: BEGINNING JULY 1, 2024, THE NCB IZIMOBILE APP WILL USE BIOMETRICS FOR ALL MONEY TRANSFERS ABOVE VND 10 MILLION
The National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB) will employ the biometric transaction authentication technique on its NCB iziMobile app starting on July 1, 2024, in accordance with Decision 2345/QD-NHNN of the State Bank of Vietnam, which aims to enhance online transaction safety.
When conducting money transfer transactions exceeding VND 10 million per transaction or VND 20 million per day, or when paying bills exceeding VND 100 million per day using banking applications, customers are required to complete an additional biometric authentication process. This process involves verifying the data on the citizen identification card with a chip.
Customers who make financial transactions for the first time on a banking application or on a new device are also required to perform biometric authentication to ensure safety when transacting online.
Authenticating transactions using biometrics will help protect customer information, increase security on digital trading platforms, and minimize risks related to impersonation and fraud.
A chip-equipped Citizen ID Card and a mobile device with NFC (Near Field Communication) capability are essential for ensuring seamless, secure, and safe transactions. If you wish to modify the biometric configurations on NCB iziMobile starting July 1, 2024, follow these 5 steps:
Step 1: Log in to the NCB iziMobile app, access Settings - Biometric Authentication.
Step 2: Perform an update of biometric information.
Step 3: Take a photo of the back of the Citizen ID Card and touch the Citizen ID Card chip to the NFC reading position on the smartphone.
Step 4: Verify your face according to the instructions on the app.
Step 5: Complete the request; For customers currently using a 9-digit ID card, 12-digit ID card, or old barcode Citizen ID Card to make transactions at NCB, you can update the information to a chip-embedded Citizen ID Card right on NCB iziMobile starting July 1, 2024.
For customers registering to use Passport at NCB, please bring your chip-embedded Citizen ID Card to the nearest NCB branch/transaction office for support in updating information on the chip-embedded Citizen ID Card.

Notes:
* According to regulation 2345/QD-NHNN of the State Bank of Vietnam, the customer's transaction limit will be affected if the customer's account has not installed biometric data as of July 1, 2024;
* Please DO NOT update your biometric data via any website or app other than the NCB iziMobile to avoid the risk of fraud. NCB does not require customers to provide an OTP, password, card number, security key, etc. over the phone or via link.
